Quick answer

TidyCal is the best Calendly alternative if you are a solo pro who wants people to book and pay. The Free plan has unlimited booking types and payments, and Individual Lifetime is $29 once. Calendly Standard is $10 per seat a month billed yearly. Pick Cal.com if you want open source, Acuity if you run an appointment business with intake forms, and SavvyCal if you do lots of 1:1 calls.

Calendly is good software that got expensive for simple things. The free plan is one event type, payments start on Standard at $10 per seat a month, and a team of five pays five times. I make TidyCal, so it's listed first. Each tool below says what it does better than us. Moving from Calendly to TidyCal specifically? Read how to switch from Calendly in 5 minutes instead.

01 TidyCal logo Best value

Best for: solo pros who charge for their time

Price
Free plan. Individual Lifetime is $29 once. Pro is $12 a month or $99 a year.

I built TidyCal for coaches, consultants and tutors who want people to book and pay without a monthly bill. The Free plan has unlimited booking types and takes payment through Stripe or PayPal, with packages, subscriptions and discount codes included. It is not a sales-team router. If you run inbound sales on Salesforce, Calendly is the better pick.

A TidyCal booking page. Three booking types, one link.

Good

  • Unlimited booking types and paid bookings on the Free plan
  • Pay once: Individual Lifetime $29, Agency Lifetime $79 for up to 4 people
  • Imports Calendly event types, bookings and contacts

Not so good

  • Free and Lifetime plans pay a 1% platform fee on Stripe bookings. Pro does not
  • No routing forms and no Salesforce
  • Text reminders (US and Canada) need Agency Lifetime or Pro
  • Automatic Zoom, Meet and Teams links need a Lifetime or Pro plan
  • Round robin and a team page need Agency Lifetime or Pro

02 Cal.com logo

Best for: developers who want open source

Price
Free for one user. Teams is $12 per user a month, billed yearly.

Open source, and you can host it yourself. The free plan for one person is one of the most generous here: unlimited event types plus Stripe and PayPal payments. Team features are per user, and there are more settings to learn than in simpler tools.

Good

  • Self-host it or change the code
  • Free plan with unlimited event types and payments
  • Two-way Salesforce and HubSpot sync on the free plan

Not so good

  • Round robin and collective events need Teams
  • Removing Cal.com branding needs Teams
  • More settings to learn than simpler tools

03 Acuity Scheduling logo

Best for: appointment businesses with intake forms

Price
No free plan, a 7-day trial. Starter is $20 a month ($16 billed yearly).

Squarespace's scheduling tool, built for salons, studios and clinics. It does what appointment businesses need: intake forms, packages, memberships, gift certificates and a waitlist. You pay monthly from day one, and the useful parts sit on the higher plans.

Good

  • Gift certificates and a waitlist
  • Signed HIPAA BAA on Premium
  • Square or Venmo payments and up to 36 staff calendars

Not so good

  • No free plan
  • Packages, memberships and text reminders start on Standard at $34 a month
  • Hiding the Acuity logo needs Premium at $61 a month

04 SavvyCal logo

Best for: consultants and sales reps with lots of 1:1 calls

Price
No free plan. Basic is $12 per user a month ($10 billed yearly).

SavvyCal lets invitees overlay their own calendar on your availability, which makes picking a time faster. Ranked availability and time blocking protect your focus time. Charging for bookings needs Premium.

Good

  • Invitees overlay their calendar on yours
  • Ranked availability and time blocking
  • An assistant can book for you (delegated access, Premium)

Not so good

  • No free plan
  • Taking payment needs Premium at $20 per user a month
  • Custom domains and removing branding are Premium too

05 Zoho Bookings logo

Best for: teams already on Zoho

Price
Free for one user, without payments. Basic is $8 per user a month ($6 billed yearly).

If your business runs on Zoho CRM or Zoho One, bookings land in the tools you already use, and you can book rooms and equipment too. Outside Zoho, per-user pricing adds up and online payments wait until Premium.

Good

  • Bookings sync into the rest of Zoho
  • Book rooms and equipment
  • Workspaces per department

Not so good

  • Online payments are on Premium at $12 per user a month
  • Every seat is another bill
  • The free plan is for one user

06 Square logo Square Appointments

Best for: in-person services already on Square

Price
A free plan for solo professionals. Paid plans on Square's pricing page.

Scheduling from Square, the point-of-sale company. Reminders and cards on file, built for in-person services at a physical location.

Good

  • Works with Square payments at your location
  • Free plan for solo professionals
  • Reminders and cards on file

Not so good

  • Built around a storefront, less suited to online calls

07 Google Calendar logo Google Calendar appointment schedules

Best for: basic booking inside Google Workspace

Price
Free with a Google account for basic booking. More comes with Google Workspace plans.

Built into Google Calendar. Good enough if people just need to grab an open slot and you already live in Google Workspace. Do not expect much branding or workflow.

Good

  • Nothing new to sign up for
  • Free with a Google account for basic booking

Not so good

  • Limited branding and workflows

What three years of scheduling costs

When Calendly is enough

Stay on Calendly if you are in one of these spots:

  • You run inbound sales on Salesforce or HubSpot. Calendly's routing forms and CRM routing (Teams and up) are a real strength. TidyCal does not have routing forms or Salesforce.
  • You want built-in video links on a free plan. Calendly adds Zoom, Google Meet and Teams links on every plan. TidyCal creates them on the Lifetime and Pro plans.
  • You have 50+ people and need SSO and SCIM. That is Calendly Enterprise territory. TidyCal does not offer SSO.
  • Lots of your clients have booked through Calendly before. That matters less than it sounds, because every booking page works the same way: pick a day, pick a time, enter your email.

If you are a solo pro or a small team that mostly needs people to book and pay, none of those should hold you back.

Checked, but not ranked

YouCanBookMe. A long-running, simple booking page tool. Easy to set up, with light customization. The free plan covers one calendar and one booking page. We could not verify its current paid prices, and it has fewer ways to sell your time, like packages and subscriptions, than anything above.

How we checked

Every competitor price comes from that company's own pricing page, read on September 30, 2026, at the billing period shown next to it. Tools with no published price we could verify carry no dollar figure. The ranking is for one person who books calls and charges for some of them, with the team math shown separately. Nobody paid to be on this list. TidyCal's prices come straight from the plans we sell, so they match what you will pay, and the 1% platform fee on Stripe bookings is the live rate.

How to switch without losing bookings

  1. Sign up for the new tool and connect your calendar first, so it can see when you are busy.
  2. Recreate your event types: name, length, availability, price and questions. TidyCal can import these from Calendly for you.
  3. Connect Stripe or PayPal if you charge, and your video tool.
  4. Swap the booking link on your website, email signature and social profiles. Leave Calendly running until the last meeting booked there has happened, and turn off its reminders so people do not get two.
